Collection: YK100 - Lamps designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro
When Yrjö Kukkapuro designed his studio in 1968, the architecture, materials and details were very experimental and modern. The vaulted ceiling was cast in concrete and because of this no straight hanging fixtures were allowed. Based on these conditions, Yrjö created this luminaire series solely from the needs of the new own studio.
Yrjö Kukkapuro is one of Finland's most internationally known and award-winning furniture designers and one of the most important modernists in Finnish furniture design. Today, however, the 100 series is manufactured by Blond Belysning in Värnamo.
